​Research Fellowship Awards
The NASCE provides research fellowship awards to enable trainees working in one of the three North American countries to travel outside of their home country for research training and collaboration in another country. The intention is to foster interaction and collaboration among Members of NASCE. 
To be eligible the trainee, the trainee’s mentor and the mentor in the host laboratory must be active members of NASCE. The trainee must be working towards a research-based Masters of Science degree, be advanced to candidacy in a PhD program (within four years of advancement to candidacy), or be a postdoctoral fellow five years or less from receiving the PhD (or MD). Up to three awards of US$1000 will be made each year with two deadlines for application: September 15th and February 15th. Applications will be reviewed by the Awards Committee and recommendations for funding will be made to the President of NASCE. Previous research fellowship awardees are listed below.
To apply send to the NASCE Awards Committee Chair, 
Paula Duart-Guterman ([email protected])., by the deadline your curriculum vitae and a 1-2 page letter of intent that has a brief description of your collaborative project and training opportunities with anticipated dates of travel. Also arrange to have one letter each from the principal investigator of your home laboratory and from your host laboratory sent to the NASCE Awards Committee Chair, Paula Duart-Guterman ([email protected]).. These letters should describe the trainee’s potential for a career in scientific research and the opportunities for collaboration and training that will be supported by this award.
