About NASCE Fellows
Election to be a NASCE Fellow is an honor for current NASCE members. Fellows are recognized for their significant, independent contributions to the advancement of general and comparative endocrinology.
The NASCE Fellow award recognizes NASCE members who have contributed significantly to the field of general and comparative endocrinology and to the community of general and comparative endocrinologists through their service to NASCE as well as other related scientific societies and related educational activities. It is committed to recognizing the breadth and diversity of the NASCE’s membership. Candidates for NASCE Fellows are to be nominated by NASCE Fellows and/or NASCE Members in good standing (those who are current in their NASCE membership), evaluated and selected by the Fellows Review Committee. The list of selected nominees is reviewed and approved by the NASCE Council.
Election as a NASCE Fellow is an honor and all NASCE Fellows are expected to exemplify the commonly held standards of professional conduct and scientific integrity.

Eligibility
- The nominee for NASCE Fellow must be a current member of NASCE for a minimum of 6 years prior to the nomination deadline (a current member refers to a member who has renewed his/her NASCE membership or is a life member).
- Immediate Past President of NASCE and Gorbman-Bern Memorial Lectureship awardee will become NASCE Fellow, upon approval by the NASCE Council.
- The nominee must have made significant, independent contributions to the advancement of general and comparative endocrinology and/or to the community of general and comparative endocrinologists through their service to NASCE as well as other related scientific societies and related educational activities.
- The nominee should have served and/or are willing to serve on committees or council or as an officer of NASCE or related societies for the benefit of the members and promote the field of general and comparative endocrinology.
Evaluation
- Nomination packages are to be reviewed by the NASCE Fellows Review Committee (4 year term) made of NASCE Fellows and NASCE Members in good standing (those who have renewed their NASCE membership or are life members of NASCE).
- The nominees are ranked and the top 4 nominees are selected.
- The list of selected nominees, including the Immediate Past President of NASCE and Gorbman-Bern Memorial Lectureship awardee, are reviewed and approved by the NASCE Council.
- Those not elected will be automatically considered for one more cycle, provided that the sponsors/cosponsors and the nominees remain as members in good standing.
Sponsors
- Sponsors need to be NASCE Fellows/Members in good standing (those who have renewed their NASCE membership or are life members of NASCE).
- Each Sponsor may nominate one Fellow and co-sponsor another in a two-year cycle.
Fellow Nomination Packet
- Nomination and selection occur once every two years, prior to the biennial meeting. . The next deadline is June 1, 2024.
- A nomination form must be completed and signed by the nominee and the primary sponsor.
- Each nomination should have a nomination letter by the sponsor and one or two letters of support, all from NASCE Fellows in good standing. At most one letter can be from the nominee’s institution.
- The nomination packet should include the nominee’s full CV, a list of 10 most significant publications in the field of general and comparative endocrinology, and a list of awards emphasizing the areas of general and comparative endocrinology.
Honoring NASCE Fellows
- Elected NASCE Fellows will receive a certificate and be acknowledged at the NASCE Meeting.
- Newly elected NASCE Fellows will be invited to the following NASCE biennial meeting reception.
- Elected NASCE Fellows will be listed on NASCE website with photos as current NASCE Fellows for two years and will remain listed there as long as the fellows remain current members of NASCE (i.e., renewed NASCE membership or are life members).
- NASCE Fellows will have the privilege of nominating fellow members and may serve on the Fellows Review Committee.
