The Directorate for Biological Sciences (BIO) at the National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking a candidate for the position of Division Director in the Division of Integrative Organismal Systems (IOS). As you may know, IOS supports research to understand why organisms are structured the way they are and function as they do focusing on organisms (plants, animals, as a fundamental unit of organization. Research employing systems approaches that will lead to conceptual and theoretical insights and predictions about emergent organismal properties in any area of developmental biology, neuroscience, physiology, functional genomics and animal behavior, organismal responses to climate change and research to uncover the relationships between genes and phenotypes across environmental, developmental social and genomic context is encouraged. A successful candidate will possess an established record of significant achievement in research administration as well as leadership responsibility in academe, industry, or government. In addition to having a strong record of research and education accomplishments within his or her technical communities, the Division Director must be experienced and competent in technical, financial, and administrative management.
